I look forward to hearing from you!
Well, after a couple weeks hiatus while setting up the new computer and importing bookmarks (all my VVW ones, especially), Viral Video Wednesday is back on. And this week’s topic, per Maggie’s request, is: Mash-ups. A mash-up is when you take scenes from one move and add scenes or the audio from another movie to and make it one video as if they’d been from the same show.
So, here are my vids:
First up, in honor of his opening today, I thought a Harry Potter mash-up would be perfect. It might not entirely qualify as a mash-up… it’s more of a parody, actually… but it takes characters from 3 movies and puts them together.
And here’s another Harry Potter mash-up, this time with Pride and Prejudice. Does this count toward my Everything Austen Challenge?
What if Harry knew that he was just a fictional character? That he was merely a figment of J. K. Rowling’s imagination and that all his suffering was merely a device to propel a story along? Harry Potter, Stranger that Fiction…
Now, I hadn’t realized until I watched the following mash-up that Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter were in both Sweeny Todd and Harry Potter, which of course makes this next vid worth sitting through someone camming their TV.
And finally, this is similar to one of the first mash-up type video I saw (the one I wanted had been removed, poo!), and has yummy Ioan Gruffudd in it. It tells the story of the Founding Four of Hogwarts 🙂
There are thousands of mash-ups out there, if you search a movie title (usually a more popular one) and the word “mashup,” you’ll find plenty to choose from.
Now it’s your turn… What are some of your favorite mash-ups?
Happy hump day everyone 🙂 First thing’s first: As promised, today’s the day I announced the winner of The 19th Wife giveaway. Despite her misgivings at being the first entrant, because Mr. Random Number doesn’t like the number 1, rhapsodyinbooks is our winner! Congrats to ya! If you’ll send me your address, I’ll be happy to forward it to David Ebershoff so he can get that in the mail to ya 😉
And now on for Viral Video Wednesday 🙂
This week’s topic is DINOSAURS. You can post any vid that deals in any way, shape or form with Dinosaurs, whether they be extinct reptiles or crotchety old men, or even obsolete technology. And you know me, mine will be weird and wacky or funny. So, on with the vids!
This first video is one of our absolute favorite at our house. To give you a glimpse of our family dynamics, I’ll just tell you that, after the first time we watched it, we identified who each of them were. The T-rex in here is Sam (my oldest, who is 16), then the middle character is Maggie (my youngest, age 10), and the non-dinosaur character is Gwen (who is 15 today, Happy Birthday to her!).
Maggie, btw, is physically incapable of belching… seriously, you can imagine the colic as a baby… so all gas is converted to the outboard motor, if ya knowwhaddamean. She is proud of the fact she can fart on command, and actually takes the stance this little dino does… which is why that is her character.
And now, the real reason dinosaurs are extinct!
One of the first video game-to-movies was Super Mario Brothers. We have the VHS of it, and watch it on a regular basis. It’s one of our favorite movies, especially since John Leguizamo is in it and the Princess is played by Samantha Mathis (my oldest daughter’s name is Sam, remember?). I love the song Walk the Dinosaur originally by Was (Not Was), which was used in the movie.
Here’s the music video from the Super Mario Brothers movie, with scenes from the movie and performed by George Clinton and the Goombas.
While watching the Walk the Dinosaur video, Sam came home from summer school and started going on about the movie, which always leads back to the best scene in the movie: Mario and Luigi’s escape from the elevator-full of goombas.
Dancing and music are primal, and Luigi takes advantage of that fact in this next vid clip:(the song, btw, is Somewhere My Love)
And one of my favorite TV from when I was a teen was The Dinosaurs. The Sinclairs was your typical 80’s family… 60,000,080s BC, that is. The dad, Earl, worked for the Wesayso Corporation pushing down trees, while Fran, his wife, stayed home and took care of the baby. Robbie and Charlene, the Sinclair teens, went to school and had typical teen concerns and attitudes. It was a wonderfully fun show that ran from 1991 to 1994 (not long enough, IMHO)… Next stop for me is Netflix. I’ve gotta put this one in my queue!
By request, Maggie wants next week’s VVW topic to be: Mash-ups! For those of you who don’t know, mash-ups are videos made with parts of two or more movies and are made to seem like one show. Like Harry Potter video with South Park audio track, or like Hey Lady! Whatcha Readin’?‘s recent post of Buffy vs. Edward (which is what made Mags ask me to do mash-ups next week.)
So now it’s your turn… Share your favorite Dinosaur vids!
Good morning and Happy Wednesday, everyone 🙂 Last week’s VVW was about American Idol Rejects who went on to make a career. I picked Renaldo Lapuz, better known as “The Birdman,” who is having something of a singing career and fans who want to have the picture taken with him. Not the big record deal the winners get, but still… better than 15 minutes.
This week’s VVW is all about my favorite part of American Idol. Those people who shoulda been talked off the ledge. Many of them are so bad that their “friends” who told them they’re great and should go for it deserve to be shot for cruelty. I don’t know if it’s insanity, or if they’re trying for a spot on national television as one of the worst, but at least they gave it a shot.
Some people who audition are more dancers than singers. Others use the opportunity as a vehicle for bigger and better things, like Leroy Jenkins Wells here. OMG, when I first saw him on TV, Mags and I looked at each other and she said, “Is he on drugs?” If I remember correctly, he was arrested a couple days after his audition aired for outstanding warrants. Now why would someone go on national TV knowing that when the prosecutor he’s been hiding out from will see it and now know where to send the po-po? CAN YOU DIG IT? (Check out the guest judge…)
We have laughed and laughed for a year or so at this next vid clip. Sammi, my oldest daughter, loves Bohemian Rhapsody. It’s the song I sing to her when she’s in a funk. No matter how bad things are for her, she’s smiling and singing along by the end of the song. The song will always have a special place in my heart. HOWEVER, Caveman Red here gives an All-Star FAIL performance of it and won a place in Simon’s heart as the WEIRDEST Audition he’s ever heard.
The next idol-wannabe made Maggie bury her head in the pillow and scream the whole way through. It’s a funny thing how people blame Simon for their own lack of talent. Evidently Keith here hasn’t talked with Renaldo, otherwise he’d know Simon is Heaven’s Chosen. 🙂
I’m shocked James Lewis here wasn’t in the news for going on a work-place shooting spree after being encouraged (punked) by his co-workers into auditioning. He seems like such a sweet guy, but he might want to get some new friends. I couldn’t help staring at his mouth, trying to figure out what’s wrong with it… is it a palate issue? or is he just that tone deaf?
ROFL… here’s a Don’t Cha compilation… The auditon I was going to put here has turned out to be worthy of an EXTRA edition.
In honour of DevourerofBooks‘s upcoming blessing, Next week’s Viral Video Wednesday topic: Babies!
So now it’s your turn… what’s your favorite worst Idol auditions ever?
Bored and clicking around, clicking on bookmarks I haven’t checked in awhile, I came across this viral video clip. I wanted to share it with everyone, and was afraid that if I saved it for an “official” VVW post, I’d forget (Like a LOT of bookmarked vids). Check it:
.
Now, the person who made this video clip has boldly named it 100 BEST MOVIE LINES” but, as I watched it, I could think of better lines for the movies shown than the ones they featured, and other movies or lines that are completely neglected. It reminds me of the arguments over the 1001 books list.
Okay, of all the Wayne’s World quotes they coulda gone with, “Spew into this?” Really? Not “Ass sphincter says what?” “What?” “Exactly.” or “She will be mine. Oh, yes! She WILL be mine.” “Spew into this” just doesn’t even rank on the top 10 of that movie.
And “Royale with cheese” was the best they could do for Pulp Fiction? Honestly, it doesn’t even rank in the memorable lines category. “Le Big Mac” is better than that. Jules’s line, “Say ‘what’ again. Say ‘what’ again, I dare you, I double dare you” was really cool. So is “Mmm-mmmm. That is a tasty burger.” and “You mind if I have some of your tasty beverage to wash this down?” And Butch’s line, “Zed is dead, baby.” just said it all.
And of course Mia’s line “Don’t you just love it when you come back from the bathroom and find your food waiting for you?” comes to mind whenever we eat out.
Ash saying “Groovy” in Army of Darkness is acceptable, then again… most of Ash’s lines make great sound clips. It was a cool movie. And “My Precious” is definitely priceless. Everything HAL said was creepy and makes great clips, and “Heeeeeeeere’s JOHNNY!” from Jack Nicholson in The Shining will outlive the man himself, just like “No Wire HANGERS!” and “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn!” have outlived their original speakers.
I totally agree “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not gonna take it anymore!” is one of the best movie lines ever, and I recently watched There Will Be Blood, not surprisingly based on an Upton Sinclair book, and the whole milkshake bit sold Plainview as a demented baddie… Sanity done left the mansion.
But now, where are the best quotes EVER? like, where’s Gunny Sgt Hartman’s lines? Granted, they are a bit… ooh, vulgar? But it WAS Marine boot camp, after all. Really, drop “Love means not having to say you’re sorry” (the most annoying and BS line in history) and give me “Sound off like you got a pair!” Or I could live without “I get older, they stay the same age.” (#24, I don’t even know the movie) and gimme Gunny saying “I didn’t know they could stack shit that high!”
And what about BOONDOCK SAINTS? Really! Murphy’s line “We’re sorta like 7-Eleven. We’re not always doing business, but we’re always open.” is one of the best lines. I’ll allow that the prayer couldn’t be included as it’s 100 best lines in 200 seconds. I really need to buy the DVD… then I won’t have to keep making Netflix send it to me.
So which movie lines in this vid are your favorite? Which lines should have been included? Which ones should’ve been left out?
Happy Wednesday, everyone! Summer vacation is in full swing: Maggie’s signed up for the library’s summer reading program and will be kept happy and busy, Sammi started summer school yesterday and is happy to be back in her beloved halls of learning (really, she LOVES school! weird, eh?), and Gwen’s visiting her dad until he gets tired of her and kicks her back home. And I’m sitting in a nice quiet house… fan blowing, dog sleeping cat lazying in the sunny windowsill… And all seems right in the world.
Okay, it’s actually cloudy and cool and raining outside, and the cats are sulking somewhere because they’re mad at me for my lack of taste when buying their royal highnesses food… at least the dog loves me. But the first way sounds so much better, right?
Such is the case with some of the wannabe Idol contestants. Their versions of reality do not always line up with that of the other 99.44% of the population of the planet. But just because they can’t dance, look goofy and couldn’t carry a tune in bucket with a lid doesn’t mean they don’t actually make good.
Today’s Viral Video topic is: I didn’t make it on American Idol, and look at me now!
There are tons of American Idol Rejects out there, and the worst of them are my favorite part of watching AI. Actually, when it gets down to good contestants I lose interest in the show all together. With the exception of last season, David and David, I’ve never made it to the end of a season. And with the exception of which ever season had Constantine in it (*drool big time!*), I’ve never watched it farther than the elimation rooms.
But, as I said, Maggie and I watched season 7 to the final credits of the final show. It was the season that made us all Brothers Forever 🙂 And one in which one of the audition rejects were invited to sing on the final show. Renaldo Lapuz has since sang the national anthem at a pro-ball game and starred in an AT&T commercial.
Check it… When Renaldo was on the finale, he even had backup provided by the USC marching band. Pretty cool 🙂
It’s a different style, and not entirely unpleasant, of singing The Star-Spangled Banner, and certainly a helluvalot better than Roseanne’s crotch grabbing and spitting screecher-creature version. Watching this on the computer with Sammi, my oldest, surprised me as my sixteen-year-old stood and put her hand over her heart. I must brag, I do have great kids 😀
And with the money AT&T paid, Renaldo spiffied up his duds… but wait? Where’s Simon’s name?? Why did he take Simon’s name off his hat? Did he and Heaven’s Chosen have a falling out?
The one question Maggie asks every time she watches Renaldo perform she asks, “Why does he dress that way?” The following vid clip answers her question and more… like why would a 44 year old try out when 28’s the age limit, inspiration for the song and What is that second reason for putting Simon’s name on his hat? They never let him tell on the show….
So, what All-American Idol Reject is your favorite?
Next week’s Viral Video Wednesday topic: The Best of American Idol is the WORST!
All those bad, scary and train-wrecking-into-a-busload-of-nuns-before-derailing-and-hitting-the-orphanage-in-a-fiery-explosion auditions can come out an play next week 🙂
As per Marie of The Boston Bibliophile‘s recommendation, I checked out Rob Paravonian’s American Idol song, and thought we’d let him take out this week’s VVW-
Welcome to Viral Video Wednesday, May 27th 🙂 For anyone who noticed, last week’s VVW was skipped because it coincided with my book blog tour stop of They Plotted Revenge Against America, and I wanted to give the book the whole day. But we’re back this week, and this week’s installment topic is LOST.
I am a Lostie, for sure… though not quite as much of one as some people. I keep acquiring, but haven’t read any of, the books that are mentioned in the television series LOST. I guess since the next season won’t start until FEBRUARY OF NEXT YEAR 😦 , then I have time to read said books, but my point is that I’m a middle of the road Lostie. I do my best to watch every episode, I’ll probably be working my way through the whole series to date between now and the next (and final) season, and trying to get caught up on a lot of the theories floating around. I’m not so much of a fan that I’m going to build a SIM for it on SecondLife (they already have one, btw, been there… not much going on at the time), nor am I going to make a fan site, change my username to FRECKLES629, or start hiding in the bushes whenever I see a puff of black smoke nearby. But, I do enjoy the show. 😀
So, in honor of the shows recent season finale, I’m dedicating my VVW to some of the fan and funny LOST vid clips. I’d love for you to share your favorites, too, either leaving a link in your comment or posting a VVW on your blog and linking up 😀 So, on with the vids!
During the first half of the series, they showed some silly Lost parodies. So I had to go on YouTube and see what other people were doing. The Fine Brothers have quite a few really funny ones, and they remind me of when we were kids playing with an incomplete set of toys. Barbies, He-Man toys, and Star Wars figures would fill in for whatever character we were lacking, and as kids, we never batted an eye. But, as an adult looking back, sometimes they were funny or even bizarre substitutions. The Fine Brothers make that very point:
Star Trek meets Heroes meets Lord of the Rings meets LOST meets Bill and Ted meets Matrix meets Back to the Future (in other words, just like the season finale 😀 ):
I loved reading Mad Magazine when I was a kid, and loved it when they made a TV show. Here’s MadTV’s LOST, guest starring Jeff Probst from Survivor:
And The Bohemian LOST Rhapsody, with a Weird Al Yankovic touch:
Jimmy Kimmel’s also a Lostie, and he likes to visit Hawaii… so he decided to combine the two and visit the set of LOST:
And I’ll end my VVW with this LOST clip from fellow Hoosier and Lefty, David Letterman (btw, I sat through all ten… you’ll get that if you do to 😉 ):
So, what’s your favorite thing from the show LOST? Who’s your favorite character? What’s your favorite LOST memory?
OR
Do you hate (strongly dislike) LOST and wish people’d just shut up about it already? If so, What’s wrong with you? Why do you dislike the show? 😀
Next week’s VVW topic is: I didn’t make it on American Idol, and look at me now!
Everyone’s done this. Your driving along, or shopping, or cleaning… whatever it is that you’re doing… you’ve got the radio, or your favorite CD, or your MP3 player going straight into your brain… and that song comes one… the one you can NOT help but sing along with. You sing along, almost without even realizing it… loudly… and someone who’ve you either forgotten or didn’t even know was there says, “What’d you say? That’s not the words!”
This first video was the first “Misheard Lyric” vid I saw on YouTube. Unless you’ve looked up the lyrics to this song, you probably wouldn’t know what the real words are anyway, but you sing along because it’s got a great beat and an infectuous melody… it sounds like a magic spell for fun.
And of course… There would hafta be a Numa Numa misheard lyrics video. Songs in English are often hard enough for English-speakers to understand, and one in another language… especially one so popular… is like Christmas at Ritchie Rich’s house, the presents just keep coming!
I once saw a commercial with the next vid’s song part of their own misheard lyrics joke. Rock the Cat’s box? Rock the Cash Bar? Sadly, this song is ACTUALLY in English.
This next song is on my MP3 player, and I know I always sing along. Whether I sing the right words or not, I don’t know… though, after watching this vid, I’ll probably never sing them right again. They’re hilarious!
And finally, this last vid is one of the best known Misheard Lyrics singing. Thanks to the popularity of American Idol and the globalization the Internet has brought us, the Bulgarian Idol show has made us all wonder…
So what’s your favorite songs to sing out loud and along with whenever you hear them? What’s the worst case of misheard lyrics you’ve heard? or even sang?
Hello and Happy Hump Day! Woo-Hoo! And who doesn’t like a good hump? Today’s Viral Video Wednesday has a few new things about it. First, we have a button! WooT! I’ve got a few other pics to turn into buttons, and if you’ve got one, lay it on me! 🙂 Second, if you look at the bottom of the picture header of this blog, you’ll see a Viral Video Wednesday tab. I’ll be keeping the current week’s VVW there, and you can add your blog in the comments so I can check out your VVW posts, too 🙂 The third change to VVW is, at the end of my post and on the VVW page, I’ll let you know what the subject of next week’s VVW so you’ll have a week to hunt down some fabulous vid clips for your own VVW posts 😀
The famous comedian W.C. Fields once said, “Never work with children or animals” and the reason for his sentiment is clear: They will upstage you and steal all the laughs! If you’ve ever tried to have a conversation with the pastor at the carry-in, only to be interrupted by your four-year-old, “Mommy, Pastor Bill does TOO have a watch… See! It’s right there on his arm! Pastor Bill, did you buy that at the dollar store with the $3 Mommy put in the offering last week?” then you KNOW that kids can chime in was some really hilarious stuff every now and then. So this week’s VVW is dedicated to all those darned funny things the little whipper-snappers say!
Poor little Colin suffers from two things endemic to childhood… Like most children, he absolutely adores being the star of the home movies, and he struggles with the correct pronunciation of some words more than others.
I first saw the following video on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” It’s always funny to watch a child when they realize where they’ve gone wrong in a conversation… that little “A-ha” moment when they take one step closer to understanding their world.
The next video brought back memories of my oldest daughter’s trips to the dentist. An utter dentophobic, she had to be given the red liquid sedative (Versed) AND the piggy-nose (nitrous oxide) to get her into the chair, then she had to have a TV headset playing Powerpuff Girls to keep her mind occupied while the dentist did anything inside her mouth. Even routine teeth cleanings could disolve into a puddle of tears on the 5 foot overstuffed Pooh Bear in the waiting room. So I completely understand David’s behavior.
What do you get when have an adorable little boy with big brown eyes telling Knock! Knock! jokes? Well… I have girls, so maybe that’s why I never got this…
And I think I’ll end here with the following video. Before you slip that DVD of Jackass Unlimited into the DVD player, remember that little pitcher sitting next to you is taking it all in, and will recount the whole scene to Pastor Bill at the Mother’s Day after-service dinner a couple weeks from now.
.
Do you have a favorite kid vid? share it with me in the comments, or better yet, post your own Viral Video Wednesday “Kids Say the Darnedest Things!” at your blog and leave the link in the comments so I can visit!
Hello, and Happy Wednesday everybody! This week’s Viral Video Wednesday is all about the widely popular, sometimes bizarre, genre of fan videos. You don’t have a hit song until the chipmunks sing it, a fat man in a too-tight-to-keep-your-secrets leotard prances to it and Saturday Night Live has parodied it.
The first time I heard, or at least noticed Beyonce’s song “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” was watching the related videos on the “ADHD ballet students” on my THAT Brought You HERE?!? post. I sat, open-mouthed and stunned at the thought of two teenage guys willingly embarrassing themselves for the world on YouTube, and watched as Alex and Jeremy showed off their complete knowledge of the video’s choreography. As I watched it, I knew I wanted to post their vid in a VVW, and went to find a few more to go with it. What I found made me laugh… some were a bit frightening, even.
So, I give you “Single Ladies,” may you laugh and enjoy them as much as I did!
Before you watch the fan vids, you have to see where they all got their ideas. I had a little trouble finding a vid with that’s embedding enabled, but I managed 🙂
So here is Alex Wong and Jeremy Cox showing off their Beyonce-ness, the video that inspired this weeks VVW topic. Shake it guys!
The next “Single Lady,” Shane Mercado, was invited to appear on Bonnie Hunt’s talk show after Hunt caught his video on YouTube.
And the next little “single lady”, Arianna, was also the recipient of national attention when her video was featured on the cable show, E! News.
Arianna was also on the Tyra Banks show with the next, slightly disturbing, “Single Lady”, cubbyradio2.
With all these Single Ladies, you KNOW that Washington has to sit up and take notice. The public likes fan vids, and the People’s President has added his moves and voice as our final Single Lady.
So what’s your fav fan vid? Are there any fan vids of your favorite song? And bizarre fan vids you’ve come across? Link them in the comments or, better yet, blog a VVW and comment back with the URL 🙂
Next week’s Viral Video Wednesday topic: Kids Say the Darnedest Things!
Happy Wednesday Everybody 😀 Today’s VVW is all about the subs.
I’m not talking about “What’s long, hard and full of seaman?” I mean subscriptions. To what YouTube channels do you subscribe? What videos made you subscribe to them? What’s their current video?
Here are mine:
asathecomic has a strange, but hilarious sense of humor. He’s easy on the eyes, I might add. Often his videos are social commentary, but he can also sing.
The first Asa video I watched and the one that got me to sub his channel is “7 Youtube ‘Don’ts!’ – STOP IT!!!!!!!!” It’s probably the video that introduced me to the idea of viral videos in the first place. If you like VVW, thank Asa… if ya don’t… 😀
His current featured video is “We Make YouTube – [Eminem – We Made You SPOOF]” which oddly kind of calls back to the previously video. He does a lot of other stuff too, I promise.. lol. While writing this, Asa made a new vidDragonball Evolution Sucks?!? (FAN REVIEW), but I didnt’ feel like rewriting this.
Cory “Mr. Safety” Williams, owner of smpfilms channel, looks like Sylar from Heroes, I swear! I have featured his videos on past VVWs, including the first video I saw, Mean Kitty, and the Numa Numa parody. I’m not sure if I subbed for the Mean Kitty music video, or if it was one of the “how to deal with Sparta” vids, so I’ll share the one with the Witch Doctor, because it cracks ME UP!
The channel’s feature vid is called “What Goes Up…” and Cory gives the following description for it:
If you’re not of a fan of my “artsy” videos, don’t worry… I’ve got a dumb one coming right up! Tony and I had fun with this video and we hope you do too : )
Of course, there is FRED. Fred, the eternally four-year-old boy with an alcoholic mother, enprisoned father, and a C-Span watching grandma, who has a crush on Judy (she hates him) and a problem with a bullly named Kevin. Fred has an anger problem and a YouTube stalker, he takes medication, ran for class president, ran from Kevin, sleeps with the cat with rabies and thinks the neighbor’s pekingese dogs are squirrels. I love FRED! He was also recently on i-Carly, where we got to see the real guy behind Fred, or rather… got to hear his real voice.
Fred goes to the Dentist was probably the video that made me subscribe. His voice, his screams, the idea of his mother… lol… I hit the yellow sub button before I even knew it!
Fred’s newest video is a Thank You vid for reaching a million subscribers. BTW, for those who might not know…. Fred is the #1 sub channel of all time 🙂
My first time seeing Tony “The Wine Kone” Huyen was actually with him in a YourTubeNEWS video segmant called the WTF Factor. I laughed so hard, and had to go and look up TWK himself and subscribe.
His featured video is a Q & A with him. Here’s the description:
Do you have a burning question you need answered? Ask away on Twitter or here or wherever. It could be YOU who I call an idiot next!
Probably, by far the most disturbing channel I subscribed to is Mr. Pregnant’s. I actually have to admit that the following video was one of the very first videos I ever saw on the Internet (I had a long period of time with no ISP in which YouTube and a lot of other things happened). AND I first saw it on Grouper, before I had even heard of YouTube. Apparently, though, due to copyrights on the song, the original video has been pulled from YouTube. It was originally made with the song “Big Girls Don’t Cry”.
Kinda sux now… not even half as funny as the original, but such is life.
I had messed up on the copy/paste and put the same vid as above here, so I went back to grab the right one. But now there doesn’t seem to be a MrPregnant feat vid, so here’s the one that pops up on my YouTube home page for him:
Before I knew he was on YouTube, I was subscribed to Mark Day‘s video blog at MySpace. Mark Day is originally from Scotland and lives in San Francisco. He’s a social commentator with an interestingly twisted view of things. Plus, he’s Scottish… and if it isn’t Scottish, it’s CRAP!
My first experience watching Mark was at some random video site, which made me check him out on MySpace, which then sent me to his YouTube channel to which I subscribed. This is that video WARNING: Video contains adult content:
I messed up putting Mr.Pregnant’s correct current video in this post, putting it over Mark Day’s current feature video. So when I went to grab Mark’s current vid’s code, I found he had a new one up. So here it is. I’ll warn you, though, it does have some offensive material in it.
Red State Update is another of those MySpace-YouTube crossovers. Hailing from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Travis and Johnathon, aka Jackie and Dunlap, are a comedy team providing politcal satire for the masses. Conservative and Republican, they’ve also appeared on CNN during the ’08 campaign offering their YouTube question. Dunlap is a total goof, who opens his mouth and inserts both feet with politically incorrect statements, while Jackie is a grumpy (but loveable) old man who tries to maintain some amount of respect, grunting in between swigs of beer and puffs on his cigarette.
I honestly couldn’t tell you what the first video I saw was. I watch them regularly, though less often of late. So I’ll give you my all-time favorite RSU video. Last year, Dunlap was promoting Jackie Broyles for President, to which Jackie vehemently denied his candidacy. His refusals did NOT stop Dunlap, however, and the following is one of those campaign vids. I actually have this video memorized…
Their current featured video is a bit strange for them…. Dunno if I like it very much, but it’s okay… The description says:
Non-actors Billy Bob Thornton and Joaquin Phoenix share laughs, swap stories, and discuss tricks of the trade in this enlightening one-on-one.
I guess I’m sub’d to more channels than that, but I think my kids have done some of the subbing…. lol… I’m thekoolaidmom at YouTube, too, if you wanted to see what all I’m doing there. One of these days I’ll get a cam and make some of my own videos.
So, You’re turn…. What channels do you subscribe to? What video made you click the sub button? What’s your fav of theirs? What’s their current featured video? Leave a comment sharing your vids or, better yet, blog it and leave the link so I can check your VVW out 😀

I guess I’m sub’d to more channels than that, but I think my kids have done some of the subbing…. lol… I’m thekoolaidmom at YouTube, too, if you wanted to see what all I’m doing there. One of these days I’ll get a cam and make some of my own videos.
So, You’re turn…. What channels do you subscribe to? What video made you click the sub button? What’s your fav of theirs? What’s their current featured video? Leave a comment sharing your vids or, better yet, blog it and leave the link so I can check your VVW out 😀
